PLAN YOUR CONFERENCE

CONFERENCE VENUE

The conference will take place in the Côte-Sainte-Catherine Building of HEC Montréal. The Côte-Sainte-Catherine Building is located at 3000 Chemin de la Côte-Sainte-Catherine (Google Map), about 200 meters from the Université de Montréal Metro station (Metro map) and about 20 minutes from downtown Montreal.

ACCOMMODATION

Since there are no hotels directly next to the conference venue, we recommend that you book your hotel room either: near the Côte-des-Neiges metro station (Metro map; walking distance from the conference site); or in downtown Montreal. We have reserved blocks of rooms at preferential rates in two hotels (including one near the Côte-des-Neiges station). Please note that there are more restaurant choices downtown than near HEC Montréal.

HEALTH INSTRUCTIONS

As of May 14, 2022, procedure masks are no longer mandatory on the HEC Montreal campus. Hydroalcoholic gel remains available at the entrance of each room.

In order to limit the spread of COVID-19, certain sanitary measures are still recommended, including physical distancing and wearing a procedure mask (the organizers will happily provide them free of charge to those who request them). The choice is now up to each individual, as is the responsibility to self-assess their health status. The Government of Quebec is providing a self-assessment tool, as well as the procedure to follow in the event of the appearance of Covid-19 symptoms (whether before or during the conference). For self-diagnosis purposes, rapid screening tests will be available at the COOP Boutique in the Côte-Sainte-Catherine building.

Also, as of October 1, 2022, all COVID-19 border requirements, including vaccination, mandatory use of ArriveCAN, and any testing and quarantine/isolation requirements will end for all travellers entering Canada whether by land, air or sea. As these guidelines may change, travellers are advised to consult the Government of Canada website regularly.

REMOTE PARTICIPATION

All conference sessions will be broadcast live on Zoom. Depending on how they register, participants will be able to take part in ten (10) community forums, eighteen (18) or sixty-one (61) scientific workshops and one (1) or three (3) plenary sessions. To take advantage of these opportunities, registered online participants need only click on the following iconat the top of each session.

In the days leading up to the conference, those who have registered for the conference – whether they are on the program or have registered via the event website – will receive an email with a version of the program containing active Zoom linksto the various sessions.

As the conference approaches, participants should ensure they download or update the Zoom application on the device (computer, cell phone or tablet) they’ll be using to access the various sessions remotely.

SIMULTANEOUS INTERPRETATION

Conference participants, whether on site or remotely, will need to use the Zoom application to access the simultaneous interpretation service.

The procedure is as follows:

As the conference approaches, participants should ensure they download or update the Zoom application on the device (computer, cell phone or tablet) they’ll be using to access the simultaneous interpretation.

In addition to the device mentioned in point 1, on-site participants should bring a pair of headphones, a charger for their device and, if applicable, the appropriate power adapter. In order not to disturb the speakers or other audience members, on-site participants will need to plug in their headphones before the sessions begin.

Sessions identified with the following symbol in the program will benefit from simultaneous interpretation. To take advantage of this feature, participants (whether they are in person or online) need only click on the following iconat the top of the targeted session. The Zoom application will then open automatically. Before the start of each session, participants will ensure that their camera and microphone are turned off (see image below).

To access the interpretation function, participants must simply click on the globe icon at the bottom of the Zoom window (see image below) and select the language of their choice (French or English).
